NPP Update - Siberia Forest Fires


It has been some time since I wrote about  NPP or now known as the S-NPP (Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership).    Forest fires in Siberia sent smoke across the Pacific Ocean where it was drifting over the U.S. and Canada.  One of the five devices on board this high tech satellite is the OMPS (Ozone Mapping Profiler Suite).  This device was used to track the smoke that was traveling such a long distance.

First Aid App by the American Red Cross

This is a great idea..

One of the biggest concerns about public safety is the ability to communicate and educate. 
Electronic alerts, weather it be by radio, or even by cellphone has been a plan from FEMA for some time now. FEMA TXT Msg 

The Red Cross has an app for your iPhone or Android phone, the Red Cross app allows you to read and learn about common first aid tips with videos and quizzes. 
It can help you call for EMS via 911
Safety tips for everything, from severe winter weather to hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes help you prepare for emergencies.
